Preggoland

“Hilarious! A comedy in the vein of BRIDESMAIDS.” (Scene Creek)

When 35-year-old Ruth ruins a baby shower with her juvenile antics, her old high school cronies -- who are all mothers now -- promptly de-friend her. But when she is later mistakenly thought to be ‘with child’ she is inexplicably welcomed back into the group. Ruth plans on coming clean, but when her dad (James Caan) has a heart attack, Ruth decides to continue to fake the pregnancy. Things get even more complicated when Ruth falls in love with her new boss, who seems to wants nothing more than to raise her unborn children as his own. Can she get out of this without losing her job, friends, respect of her family and the new love of her life?

Starring Sonja Bennett (who wrote the script), James Caan and Danny Trejo and directed by Jacob Tierney ("Good Neighbors," "The Trotsky"), "Preggoland" is a comedy about our societal obsession with babies and the lengths we’ll go to be part of a club.

Review :
Ignore the other reviewer's essay.....
This movie was exactly what I expexted. A cheesy, light hearted, funny and entertaining movie. Douchington up there who reviewed it before me was apparently expecting academy award winning performances and an all star block buster. My husband and I who are pregnant, watched this movie together and we were laughing the entire time. It was a very entertaining watch. Kept our attention the entire time. If you're not expecting some thought provoking political statements or anything of the sort. I think you will enjoy this film.

Looooove this movie!
A great balance of hilarious and clever, Canadian film quirkiness at its best - great acting all around. Highly recommend .

Creatively approached topic. Enjoyed watching.
A creative approach to a premise that while has been explored before isn't over done. Character development allows you to connect and become invested in their individual outcome.

Man Up & Go

Why would an unlikely group of American men travel to the depths of third world countries such as Ethiopia and Uganda, and join with the African men? To launch a movement called “Man Up” and to go on an adventure of a lifetime. Their mission was simple: to open their hearts, love big and to be fathers to the fatherless.

"The Man Up and Go" story began when Roger Gibson and his American family went to pick up their adopted daughter, Zoie, in Ethiopia only to find she was 6-months-old…but she was only 7 pounds and deathly sick. Roger asked himself, “Is there a way out of this?” He called his dad asking for support but heard words that would sink deep into his core: “Roger you need to man up! If Zoie dies in your arms tonight, at least she would die in the arms of a father.” Roger couldn’t get “man up” out of his head and knew he had to do something radical: to inspire men to be better role models, husbands and fathers. Man Up, the movement, was soon born.

This film follows the first Man Up team made up of multiple and diverse men of different ages from the beginning, starting in the USA. They travel to Africa, where they visit secret children’s prisons, orphanages, isolated tribes and a garbage dump that thousands call home. The men cook, clean and gather food. They wash the feet of desperate women and shave and feed lepers. Playing games and loving orphans, the men quickly became fathers and mentors to thousands, even if just for a day. The Man Up and Go brothers literally did man up and go only to discover their own lives were impacted the most. In the end, the American team traveled back home to their comfortable lives...but will they ever be the same?

Review :
MORE LIBERAL GUILT PROPAGANDA.
Sorry,...but America is in more desperate need of "fathers" for the millions of worthless and cowardly scum men whom shirk their responsibilities right here in the U.S., so before anyone starts worrying about Africa's fatherless problems, how about we work on solving America's fatherless first.
