Review :
beautiful visuals. And gradually
The show started off strong -- intriguing plot, beautiful visuals. And gradually, as the season went on, the plot started going to shambles. Every episode was packed with the most ridiculous surprises that dissolved the realism of the characters and any chance at a deeper meaning. I should have seen it coming that the ending would be such an utter letdown. I'm sorry I watched this show.

Strange Story
The plot is fresh and original. I enjoyed the mystery, but I kept getting lost. Why would a Rabbi allow a crazy gentile preacher to raise a Jewish boy? It seemed implausible, but perhaps they will make this clear in later episodes. The story moved along well and was entertaining.

Spoiler Alert.

Their goal is to communicate with God. Huh? Wouldn't he be outraged when he found out what they had been doing? God's not some amoral force to be used by ruthless men. I thought we settled this with "Indiana Jones", but I guess not.

Worst finale EVER! (Spoilers)
I really loved this show. I thought it was well thought out, well written, compelling. Then, the final episode ruined it for me.

1. The "Hey, look over there," ending was lame. Christians, Jews, and the Moriahs (?) planned this event for more than 13 years and they are distracted by a little earthquake. They were planning ARMAGEDDON! I've never experienced the end of the world before but I would imagine that there would be more than a little 2.5 earthquake. You had one job: to kill the red heifer. You look out the window and someone steals your calf? Your plan wasn't so great if a little tremor distracted you.

2. Pastor Billingsly was killed by an evil cashew? Really? That was soooooooo lame I was literally laughing at the TV. The writers got paid for that? They need to pay me for making me watch that foolishness.

3. Emma/Rebecca falls in love Peter? She plans and schemes this entire thing. She changes her identity for more than...

Billy finally comes to life on Blu-Ray!!
Finally this very under appreciated and underrated horror film is getting a U.S. Blu-Ray release this summer. Such a great horror film from horror genius James Wan and one his leasted talked about films. Excited for August 11th.

Bored silent, you dummy.
This has to be one of the least entertaining horror films I have ever seen. The idea was great but the execution was poor. Just another generic plot line with anticipated scares and a far too darkly lit ambiance for its own good. It's painful to see a great idea turn into just another silly b-movie.

Great Film!
Finally great to have this film on Blu Ray. A very unique, creepy film. If you are a horror fan, you can not go wrong here. Unlike most scary movies it is something that hasn't been done ten thousand times before.

Screen legend John Wayne pays tribute to oil field legend “Red” Adair in Hellfighters. Chance Buckman (Wayne), is a colorful Texan who tames out-of-control infernos in exotic locations around the world. He is joined by a crew that includes Jack Lomax (Jay C. Flippen), Joe Horn (Bruce Cabot) and his assistant, Greg Parker (Jim Hutton). Between blazes, Chance “carries the torch” for Madelyn, the wife who left him 20 years earlier because of his dangerous lifestyle. Meanwhile, Greg has his hands full at the poker table and in the bedroom with Chance’s spunky daughter, Tish (Katharine Ross). Directed by action veteran, Andrew V. McLaglen, this film features sizzling special effects and exciting locations in Texas and Wyoming.

Review :
John Wayne sheds light on a little-known business
It's fashionable these days (perhaps because of the vogue for "political correctness") to deride John Wayne and all his works, but the fact is that he was among the last actors to stick steadfastly to the notion that movies were, and should remain, family fare. And even though he admitted in so many words, "I play John Wayne in every picture regardless of the character," such a tendency isn't necessarily a handicap: what is important that an actor displaying it be certain that he chooses the right scripts. For Wayne, "The Hellfighters" was one such.
The film was loosely based on the experiences of Red Adair and his Wild Well Company (they served as technical advisors, and many viewers may remember that twenty years later Adair was still at work, helping to quench the Kuwait oil fires), and chronicles the adventures of Chance Buckman (Wayne) and his Houston-based outfit with a series of fires, gradually building in seriousness and difficulty, tied together by the dual romance of...
Who else but John Wayne could play Red Adair
Loosely based on the life and career of Red Adair, I find this movie a joy to watch not only because I am a big fan of John Wayne, but also because of the fascinating job of being an oil well firefighter. Yeah, there is some soap to it with the love stories between Wayne and Vera Miles as well as Katherine Ross and Jim Hutton, but its not ridiculous or over the top, and I think the stories portrait how such a dangerous profession can have an effect on the families of the men who do it. The friendship between Wayne and Hutton's characters come through, and the play between them will keep you chuckling, especially when their relationship as friends grows to Father-in-law/Son-in-law.

THIS MOVIE ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This movie is fabulous. It is one of my all-time favorites. John Wayne, Katharine Ross & Jim Hutton do a wonderful job.
